The wine-making tradition continues in the Pantić family for more than half a century, largely owing to efforts made by Dr Ljubivoje Pantić from the town of Trstenik, who, alongside his medical work, decided to keep the wine-making tradition of his grandfather Živojin alive.Vineyards belonging to Stemina Winery are situated on the left bank of the West Morava river, at a spot previously occupied by imperial vineyards. The vineyards covering 2 hectares in total are home to the following grape varieties: Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, and they are located on a sun-drenched slope, at 400 meters above sea level. The winery also buys 50% of grapes from local subcontractors. The annual capacity of the winery is 40,000 bottles.
The very name of the winery is derived from the inital syllables of Ljubivoje’s children’s names – Stefan and Mina, who are bound to continue the family tradition of this winery.
The brand name of this winery is rose wine Minna, made from Pinot Noir. Stemina Winery also takes great pride in Stephanos wine – a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, whose extractive features resemble the reds of South Africa. Wine ages in barrique barrels made from Serbian oak originating from monastery/imperial forests stretching out in the vicinity of the winery.
