AGRONET COURSE FOR WINEMAKERS AND VINEGROWERS 07.10.2021 - 09.10.2021

AgroNET- Research & Education Center in the period from 7th to 9th October 2021 in the Hotel Sunce in Sokobanja is organizing the second edition of the professional course "Modern approaches to wine production with a climate impact".

Course participants will have the opportunity to get acquainted with the latest scientific and technological knowledge in the field of viticulture and winemaking with special reference to strategies aimed at adapting to climate change, features of terroir wine production on the example of Cabernet Sauvignon, technologies and capabilities for precision viticulture, oenological practices for high quality white and red wine production as well as strategies for selling and exporting wines to the international market.

The course will cover the following topics through lectures, workshops, practical case studies and interactive discussion, :

- Challenges in the vineyard and grape production in the conditions of climate change

- Production of wine grape varieties in California with special reference to the Cabernet Sauvignon variety

- Trunk Disease - phylloxera of the 21st century: prevention, symptoms, measures and control of disease

- Application of precision agriculture in modern viticulture

- Oenological procedures in the production of quality white wines. Chardonnay between the Old and New Worlds

- Oenological practices for the production of quality red wines with reference to the production of Cabernet Sauvignon in Bordeaux

- Sales and export of wine - experiences from the region

- Masterclass - Cabernet Sauvignon on a trip around the world

The practical part of the course will be held in the vineyards of Knjaževac wine region.
The course is tailored for vinegrowers, winemakers, winery owners and consultants.

Registration is required, and the number of participants is limited to 30 participants.
Registration fee is 6,000 dinars for all three days.

During the course, participants are provided with refreshments, lunch and dinner.
Note: travel and accommodation costs are not included in the course price.

The application deadline is October 1st, 2021. A detailed program will be sent to registered participants before the start of the course.
