GRAŠEVINA CONFERENCE IN OSIJEK

If you attend the international conference on Graševina, which is being held on May 26th and May 27th, 2022 in Osijek, the largest city of Slavonia and Baranja (Croatia), you will have the opportunity to explore all features of the major regional grape variety.

Did you know that Graševina makes up almost 45% of the total grapes produced in Croatia and only slightly less than 40% of the total wine produced? Graševina, along with Malvasia and Plavac, is planted on about 25% of the total vineyard surface in Croatia. It is also known as Riesling italico, Laški Riesling, Welschriesling, Olasz Riesling, Grašac and Riesling Vlašsky.

The conference is aimed to discuss importance of Graševina, the connection between terroir and tourism, wine marketing and the positioning of Croatia as a wine country, as well as the climate changes we are witnessing. With dr. sc. Darja Sokolić, manager of the Croatian Agency for Agriculture and Food as the organizer, the key speakers at the conference are: Vlado Krauthaker, Saša Špiranec, prof. Ph.D. sc. Edi Maletić, prof. Ph.D. sc. Đuro Horvat, Mario Meštrović, prof. Ph.D.Sc. Dragan Kovačević and others. After the main program of the conference, on May 27th, in the evening hours, a wine gathering is organized in Perivoj Kralja Tomislava at the Evening of Wine and Art.

The organizer of the conference is the Croatian Agency for Agriculture and Food, and the partners are the Osijek-Baranja County Tourist Board and the Graševina Croatica Association. The conference is part of the project "Wine Tour Across Borders" co-financed through the EU Interreg program Hungary-Croatia.

Attendance at the main conference program is free, and registration is required. As the number of places is limited, applications are sent (name and surname, organization) to
