ŽUPA DESSERT - PROKUPAC PIE

In the period when Prokupac harvest starts in Župa, the favorite dessert in the villages of Župa is a local pie made from Prokupac berries. The grapes in Župa are so sweet that they are used to make a popular dessert. There are several variations of this dessert, so we present to you just one of them here.

Ingredients:

500 g phyllo dough
500 g Prokupac berries
100 g bread crumbs
100 g ground walnuts
1 teaspoon cinnamon
150 g sugar
150 ml sunflower oil
powdered sugar for sprinkling


Preparation:
Take 3 sheets of phyllo dough, sprinkle each with a little oil and arrange one over the other. Mix Prokupac berries with ground walnuts, bread crumbs, cinnamon and sugar. Spread some stuffing on one end of the layered phyllo dough sheets, then wrap them in a roll. Repeat until all the phyllo dough and stuffing is used up. Then place the rolls in a greased pan and coat with a little oil, then place in an oven preheated to 200 degrees Celsius. Bake until nicely browned. When you take Prokupac pie out of the oven, sprinkle a little water and leave it covered to cool. Before serving, cut into desired shape and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
